I have owned and operated my own woodworking bisiness in Maine for 20 years. The experience I have gained aling with my continuing education has provided me with many new and useful skills.

SKILLS

These skills include a background in Mechanical Technology and an aptitude for reading and writing.In addition to past skills I have been taking classes at UMA to obtain my degree in Library Science and Technology. I have listed the classes that I have taken so far in education heading. Besides my business and manufacuring skills I have written short stories, radio plays and my own company brochure. Developing my communication skills through years in business has helped me interact with my customers and employees. I have also raised two children, both high school honor students. In conclusion, I believe that I hace achieved a certain level of confidence in business and family relationships. Along with my continuing education program I feel qualified for this position.

  • Operating my own business I plan, organize and continually monitor the development of my company.
  • I'm confident at making decisions and carrying them through.
  • I have become proficient in many electrical and mechanical skills through the use and repair of woodworking machinery.
  • On daily bases I talk to customers, keep track of incoming and outgoing orders, and make sure the work gets done. I also developed my company's brochure, including artwork and text.
  • I design new products to sell and have organized and operated my company's trade show booths. I like meeting people and interacting on a professional and personal level.

  1. 1975-Present: Owner and Operator of Czak & Son cabinet shop and Shutterworks.
  2. 1971-1975: Cabinet shop work, used tools in the construction of furniture and kitchens.
  3. 1968-1971: ACCO Bristol Co. Work in product engineering, testing new products for manufacturing environmental recording instruments
